Season 5: The Mimoza Family 2

Last time: When we visited the Mimoza's last season Carla was pregnant and gave birth to a little boy named Luke. Later in the round, a birthday party was held for Luke and he grew up into a toddler. Toddler skilling ensued. Parties were had, some promotions were achieved and that was about it.  

So when we first open the game and pull up this family the family portrait is the same as it was at the start of last round...as in Carla still shows as pregnant and toddler Luke is nowhere to be seen.  Worried that I had somehow not saved this house after having already blogged about it I hesitantly went into the house.  There stood Carla, not pregnant but in different clothes than I had given her before, Bob looking like normal, and Luke sitting outside in the front yard.

I scan the house and discovery no crib, no changing table, no rabbit head, no potty chair, and no easel are anywhere to be found.  It's like anything associated with the last update was gone, except for the sims themselves.  Then I notice the season is showing the start of summer, which I'm also 100% sure was the season it was last time.  This should be the 3rd season in this house, making it winter. Everything else looks normal.  LTW's are correct, aspirations are correct, jobs are correct...so I am not sure what happened but we will keep a close eye out on this. This consequently means pictures were lacking slightly because I was checking out everything, a lot.

We start out with an obviously not pregnant Carla sitting down to finish teaching little Luke how to talk.  He is resistant to learning and that makes him mom very sad.

 It's Saturday, somehow, again it's like a whole season was lost, but they don't go to the lake.  I'm too scared to leave the house.  So instead I just have Carla leave.  I've decided she and Bob need cell phones, so out she heads to the "mall" and grabs the phones, then some groceries and comes right back. Everything seems normal, but Carla shouldn't be in this green top (although I do like it.)

Bob, anxious to get started on his LTW since he is 8 days from being an elder, greats Cymmi who wants Bob to play.  Bob plays with Cymmi, feeds the dog treats and makes very good friends with Cymmi, who is adopted into the family that very afternoon.

Later that night another dog, Roxi, comes by.  This is a female dog to Cymmi's male and I think it's possible they could make cute puppies together.  So Bob is out making friends but didn't get high enough to adopt Roxi yet.  They are friends though.

 Bob's brother and sister-in-law, Todd and Tess come over and spend time with Bob.  Tess works in the same career as Bob and she is over all the time anyway.  They discuss kids (remember Todd and Tess have a little girl that just grew into a child during this season) and enjoy dinner.

Cymmi checks out the youngest member of this family, Luke, and seems to like him.  Luke feels the same way and reaches out to Cymmi.  Cymmi does oblige and nuzzles Luke a little making both of them happy indeed.

As I was getting Luke ready for his birthday and preparing his parents to call over family and friends Luke decides he doesn't want a big party for his birthday and would rather grow up, alone, in his room.  I didn't even realize it was late enough for this to happen to him. Luckily TS2 sims don't consider it a "missed" birthday.  He's a cute little boy, taking more after the Mimoza side of the family then his mom's.

Luke really wants to make a friend, and since his aunt Tess is over he talks to her and talks to her.  Sadly they never do become friends even though on Luke's side the relationship is up over 70 points.  What had Tess so upset with Luke about?  He was a baby.

After school the next day Luke watches some TV while he waits for his dad to come home.  Sure enough, Bob had Tess in tow once again, it makes sense they would carpool, she does live right across the street, and while Tess entertains herself Bob helps Luke with his homework.

The dog, Cymmi, is starting to smell and put everyone off so we have Carla bathe him when she gets home, and we buy a new bathtub/shower combo for the purpose of washing the dog.  Funny thing I noticed randomly throughout this play is Carla typically acts normally, but on random occasions, she waddles as though she is still pregnant.  After the bath everyone continues to complain about Cymmi's smell too, even though his hygiene is showing as normal.

Both Carla and Bob manage a single promotion this season, which brings in so much needed money.  Especially if Bob is going to make a run for it on getting those pet friends soon.  Time will tell if he makes it. Luke wanted some skill points, and he was hungry so we had him start working on cooking with the kid stove.  He isn't doing great yet.

As the season draws to a close we find Tess once again came home with Bob and she and Carla sit and catch up.  Carla is the one in the knight's armor, she will need to get some more skills before she gets another promotion, same with Bob.  They started working on them, but it was slow going this season.

Looking at the other houses, and the university round I had just finished, everything else looks completely normal.  Seasons are all correct, sims are with their correct families, in their correct clothing, and while I didn't go into any of the houses specifically, I saw nothing to give me pause that any other house had a weird occurrence like this one.  I guess we will see when I get back to the start of the round after a final university update coming next.

Season 5: The Mimoza Family

Last Time: Stephanie Mimoza was born and eventually turned into a toddler.  The triplets left for university. Parties were thrown by Tess and lots of skilling took place. 

We get to start this round with the gypsy woman dropping off a lap.  This is pretty exciting for the family and while no one ended up making a wish this round, next round they will probably wish for money, at least, to remodel and add onto the house as the heir and his intended will be home from college.

Todd needed body skills for work, and he wanted to get fit at the same time.  Luckily those two things go together, although he gets fit faster than he gains the body skills he needed.  Eventually, he reached his body skill goals and his fitness goals and life is good for Todd.

Tess, who is in her workout clothes from playing soccer with Todd, goes to the grocery store.  She is into Cuisine and realized they were out of food.  That has stopped being as big of an issue now that the teen boys are out of the house, but they still need food sometimes.  As a side note, I really like Tess' workout clothes.

It was time for Stephanie's birthday so, Tess being Tess, threw a party and invited the triplets as well as Bob and his wife and friends from around the neighborhood.  Of course, everyone decides they want to dance.

Tess brought little Stephanie to the cake and they blew out the candles together.  I did not get Stephanie's grow up picture, but she turned into a cute little girl and managed to reach 8 charisma skills as a toddler.

The party turns into a hula party, although Elyse Yerazig didn't seem to get that memo as she is the only one dancing to her own beat.

Here is Stephanie as a girl.  She actually grew up into that outfit, which I thought was adorable and suited her perfectly.  It's a miracle when that happens in the Sims, but sometimes the system does pick out cute outfits.  Stephanie is teaching her little girl to study.

Tess was finally high enough in the Law career to get the career reward and used it to help get her charisma built up.  She, unfortunately, due to a chance card, lost a skill and still needed charismas points, so it was good she earned it.

I realized the upstairs of the house was a little weird and lacked any room to really grow into.  Also, only one person could play chess at a time.  So I remodeled some and it caused some strange issues.  Every time I switch levels in the house the sims popped out of whatever they were doing, they also would randomly stand somewhere and yell at me they couldn't move.  So I removed everything again, sold some stuff, burninated the ground and then put everything back and all was resolved.  Not sure exactly what caused it, but at least Tess and her daughter were able to get some logic skills in.

There is also now a phone upstairs as well, and Todd took time to try and get another family friend.  Tess needs one more for another promotion and she has been slacking a little on gaining friends this round.

Stephanie finally came home with an A+, which met a huge with for her.  She ran in to tell her dad, who had just gotten off the phone, and he was very proud of his little girl.  I love how they cheer for the kids when they reach this.

Stephanie brought a friend home, due to a change card, and spent some time playing with her.  She has become Stephanie's first non-family friend.  This is, I believe, one of the girls I built to fill the adoption pool.  She has freckles thanks to ASimWen's sims that I have downloaded.

I could not remember what the criminal reward gave you skill wise so I had Tess ask Todd for lessons.  It's creativity and while Tess didn't NEED a creativity skill, it gave them some time together.  You can also see we finally have the reward objects in the house and not on the porch.

And with that, we are done with another season for the Mimoza household, at least the first one.  We are getting ready to head back into university now which will see all of the kids coming home for the next round. Sadly, even though she's VERY close, Tess still hasn't gotten the hobby plaque for cuisine yet, but she should get it next round.

Season 4: The Mimoza Family 2

Last time: When we were last with this branch of the Mimoza family Bob had just moved into his own house across the street from his brother.  He got married to Carla Reamon in a nice outdoor ceremony and they went on a honeymoon to the mountains. Caral announced she was pregnant and Bob worked to befriend strays.

Bob and Carla sit down and eat some breakfast together.  Carla is having a tough time keeping all of her needs up during this pregnancy and is typically either hungry or tired, but this morning she was doing pretty well.

Both of them need and/or want to learn things to keep progressing in their careers so some time is spent skilling while we wait for the baby to arrive.

Being the pop sims they are, parties are frequently thrown, typically by Carla.  She doesn't know that many people in the hood and this is a great way to get people over and talk with them.

During the night Carla gets invited to the Music and Dance lot.  She does a lot of dancing, preferring the slap dance to her home's traditional hula.

Last one night while Carla was headed out to the trash the labor pains took her.  She was right outside the couple's window and Bob rushed outside to be with her...although there wasn't much he could do but look on.

A baby boy was born.  Everyone, meet baby Luke.  We can see he has his father's coloring, but his eyes are still a mystery as he kept them closed.

Carla instantly went to bed, but Bob took over as the dad right away, feeding the baby and bottle, playing with the baby, and being a good father right off the bat.

Caral needed the rest and after she went back to work even got a promotion.  She is working her way up the entertainment industry.  (AN: I had actually completely forgotten she didn't have a career LTW, so she didn't focus as much on friends as I normally would have had her, but that's for next round).

She then worked to skill up some for the next promotion.  This house is pretty little, and the couple has very little money.  They really want to be able to spruce up the place someday.

Ever the pop sim, Carla goes and greats this interesting looking passerby.  She is, of course, still in her underwear.  She doesn't seem to mind her attire, and neither does he.

Before we know it, it's time for a birthday party.  I think for pop sims this is one of the best things about having kids.  They give you excuses to throw parties.  Bob's family is invited, although not all of them are able to attend.

Carla brings little Luke to the cake and all of the guests cheer for the birthday boy and such a wonderful party.  The purple guy, who I think is named Kent, also stays for the party.

A before our very eyes we have Luke turn into a toddler.  He is a very outgoing and but also very serious and fairly grouchy Leo.  He has brown hair (which is almost reddish here) like his dad, but blue eyes.  That could have come from either parent, as Bob's eyes are recessively blue.

Auntie Tess can't wait to snuggle the new addition to their family.  She is probably thinking about her own Stephanie who is just about the same age.

Carla relaxes on the couch and is satisfied with having such a great party.

Little Leo plays a lot with his bunny toy.  This is one of the best toys for toddlers, and I have found many toddlers get almost enough charisma by playing with this guy during their toddler years they practically have enough for a scholarship.

Carla and Luke become best friends.  Luke is a pretty easy kid to take care of and his parents get to sleep through most of the night almost every night without having to tend to him.

Bob also becomes best friends with Leo while working on his potty training.  It took a couple of days to get each parent to a level they could make some smart milk.

During yet another party thrown by Carla, Luke gets some smart milk and learns to walk with his daddy's help.

Finally, by the end of the party, Luke has also learned to use the potty like a big boy.  All that is left is to teach him to talk.  Carla will take on that responsibility as Bob has to go back to work.

With that last little bit, we close out the round for the second house of the Mimoza family.  We will be heading back to university next to finish out the second half for the end of this round.  That should bring Eugene and Jaiden back to the town for next round.

AN: It was so awesome to come back and play this hood again after such a long absence.  I had forgotten how much I wanted to see this new baby and be back with these families.  I hope you all enjoy the update, and I do expect to keep having updates slowly.

Season 4: The Mimoza Family

Last Time: Bob moved out into his own house to start another branch of the Mimoza family.  Saturday comes and the family heads to the lake. Tess and Todd worked to get the boys into private school, which was successful. Tess threw a party and then discovered she had become pregnant again.

 This is yet another post that I will be making based on some pictures and a few old notes about what happened.  However, when we join the Mimoza house we find brother's playing chess.  This is, I THINK, Brennan and Frankie.

Tess goes into labor in the middle of the night, actually in the bedroom.

She gives birth to a little girl.  Everyone meet Stephanie Mimoza.  She is brown hair and blue eyes like her mother.

They boys, at least two of them, love sports.  We see some of the family playing soccer in the side yard.  I think that's one of the boys and a friend from school.

Todd comes home with a promotion again.  I believe that takes him back to where he was before the end of last round where he got demoted.

Todd is a very good dad to Stephanie and makes sure to cuddle her when he gets home from work.  The Mimoza's don't' really want any more children.

Tess has returned to work after having the baby and gets a promotion herself.  It could be due to all those friends she keeps up with on the phone.

Ever the popularity sim Tess wanted to throw a party for Stephanie's birthday so all the friends they could find were invited over for the party.

Arnav and Opal (I believe) are invited to the party.  They had been in crush mode at the end of Arnav's house and now have fallen in love.

The party continues inside, and as all Tess' parties tend to do, it's become a dance party.  Even Carla, Bob's new wife is dancing away.  She should have her baby this round once we reach their house.

Finally, it's time for cake.  Tess brings baby Stephanie to her cake and magically she become a toddler.  She's a very cute little toddler and I like her dress.

Tess begins teaching her to walk as the party still continues in the other room....or it's a new party.  With Tess it's hard to tell, she is a party animal.

It's well attended, however, and everyone seems to be having a good time.

Siblings skilling away.  We see Stephanie working with the rabbit head to build up charisma, and one of her brothers is busy gaining logic.

One of Stephanie's brothers....I want to say Marvin??....sits down and teaches her a nursery rhyme.  She loves her brothers.

Dad, I think....the males in this family look too similar!, sings with her after she has learned it.  Todd is a very attentive dad to his little girl.

The boys get invited for an outing somewhere, and they have a good time attending.

Todd sits down and plays with Stephanie as she gets more skills in Charisma.  By the end of this round, she has 6 total Charisma skills.

The boys take turns using the single computer in the house.  Mostly it's used for browsing their interests, like sports.

No longer, however, because the three boys are off to college.  Tess waves goodbye to her three boys as they load into their taxis and head off to university.

This family was so big and had so many things going on.  It's good I took a lot of pictures because it helped me remember what was happening.
